Debra Welch Anderson was born and raised in Colorado. She is a self taught artist. Her mother, a professional oil painter, her father , a professional photographer. In 1969 her family moved to Arizona where her love for the Southwest began. In her paintings she tries to capture the mystical, serene beauty of nature, the amazing Arizona sunsets , architecture and a restful moment in time to bring a sense of peace to her viewers. She loves to paint what she calls "great escapes" Her love of nature and animals is also evident , as shown in her commissioned portraits of Arabian horses as well as wildlife. Her work is in private and corporate collections across the country. Memberships Oil Painters of America, Sonoran Art League , Scottsdale AZ, The Stencil Artisans League of America
